Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager
Department: Operations
Reports To: VP of Operations
About the Role
The EHS Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and sustaining a strong safety culture across Del Real Foods. This role oversees all safety, environmental, and risk management programs while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong communication, training, and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and enforce all safety, food safety, and regulatory compliance programs (OSHA, Cal/OSHA, SQF, USDA, FDA).
- Manage safety programs including IIPP, LOTO, Hearing Conservation, Hazard Analysis, Forklift Safety, and emergency response.
- Conduct incident investigations and maintain OSHA logs.
- Manage Food Defense and the company’s Security Program.
- Oversee environmental programs (Wastewater, Storm Water, CalARP, HAZMAT, SDS, EPA Manifest).
- Support Workers’ Compensation and other risk management processes.
- Coordinate and support internal and third-party audits.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of EHS experience (Food Industry preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety (preferred).
- Bilingual English/Spanish required.
- Strong leadership, training, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety/environmental regulations, including Cal/OSHA.
Physical & Work Environment
- Ability to work in both office and production environments, including cold, hot, loud, and humid conditions.
- Occasional walking, standing, bending, lifting, and exposure to varying temperatures.
