Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager

Department: Operations

Reports To: VP of Operations

About the Role

The EHS Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and sustaining a strong safety culture across Del Real Foods. This role oversees all safety, environmental, and risk management programs while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong communication, training, and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and enforce all safety, food safety, and regulatory compliance programs (OSHA, Cal/OSHA, SQF, USDA, FDA).
  • Manage safety programs including IIPP, LOTO, Hearing Conservation, Hazard Analysis, Forklift Safety, and emergency response.
  • Conduct incident investigations and maintain OSHA logs.
  • Manage Food Defense and the company’s Security Program.
  • Oversee environmental programs (Wastewater, Storm Water, CalARP, HAZMAT, SDS, EPA Manifest).
  • Support Workers’ Compensation and other risk management processes.
  • Coordinate and support internal and third-party audits.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of EHS experience (Food Industry preferred).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety (preferred).
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required.
  • Strong leadership, training, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety/environmental regulations, including Cal/OSHA.

Physical & Work Environment

  • Ability to work in both office and production environments, including cold, hot, loud, and humid conditions.
  • Occasional walking, standing, bending, lifting, and exposure to varying temperatures.
