**Job description**

  • *Direct Bore Inc.**is a leading utility infrastructure contractor specializing in directional drilling, delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality underground installations across Ontario.

We are currently seeking a proactive and detail-oriented **Health and Safety Coordinator** to support our clients throughout the GTA and Ottawa. Reporting to the General Manager, the Coordinator will assist in managing client Health and Safety programs and conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with all applicable construction regulations.

  • *Key Responsibilities**
  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of Health and Safety programs
  • Perform regular site inspections to assess workplace conditions and monitor worker practices for compliance and safety
  • Prepare and distribute observation reports to all relevant parties for review and action
  • Attend safety meetings and offer guidance on Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and construction regulation compliance
  • *Incident Investigation & Prevention**
  • Participate in incident and accident investigations; identify root causes and develop preventive solutions
  • Monitor the effectiveness of corrective and preventive measures
  • Review and support implementation of corrective actions for non-compliance in coordination with site management
  • *Training & Communication**
  • Support client onboarding and orientation sessions to ensure understanding of safety policies and procedures
  • Facilitate toolbox talks and safety meetings as needed
  • Provide Health and Safety awareness training when required
  • *Qualifications & Skills**
  • 3-5 years of Health and Safety experience within the construction industry
  • Diploma, Degree, or Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (considered an asset)
  • NSCO Certification (considered an asset)
  • Strong knowledge of OHSA and construction safety regulations
  • Ability to travel between GTA and Ottawa as needed
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Valid Class G Driver’s License
