Job Description

The Health Safety Coordinator-2nd Shift plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of employees and customers. Key responsibilities include conducting environmental and safety inspections, submitting required reports, planning and implementing safety policies, and assisting with training programs.

Additionally, this role involves investigating industrial accidents, providing guidance to management, and representing the organization in community or industry safety groups. The successful candidate will have strong working knowledge of EHS laws and regulations, excellent time management skills, and ability to effectively present information to various stakeholders.

  • Conduct environmental and safety inspections;
  • Complete and submit environmental reports required by various agencies;
  • Plan and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations;
  • Assist Plant Training Facilitator in planning and implementing programs to train managers and employees in occupational safety practices;
  • Complete reports and investigations of industrial accidents/incidents and their root causes for use by company personnel and outside agencies;
  • Provide guidance to management and supervisors relating to investigations of accidents and injuries; cooperates in the preparation of material and evidence for organization use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations in conjunction with Human Resources;
  • Oversee the administration of workers' compensation program, including working with the insurance carrier to eliminate employee industrial accidents, working in tandem with the Human Resources department;
  • Represent the organization in community or industry safety groups and programs;
  • Maintain files and records pertaining to safety and environmental issues;
  • Takes a lead role in administering the safety committee;
  • Enter and track safety and environmental data in electronic format;
  • Report to senior management on safety performance and propose actions to continuously improve;
  • Organize safety initiatives and events in the facility to promote a culture of safety first;
