Essential Job Summary

The Safety Coordinator is a vital member of the Environmental, Health and Safety team. This role is key in ensuring that the company’s Safety Programs are effectively communicated and implemented across all levels. You will be instrumental in training and coaching employees and managers on safe workplace practices and compliance with policies and regulations. This position requires traveling around our service area to meet employees, conduct safety observations, and respond to accidents and incidents.

Essential Job Functions

• Knowledge of DOT compliance.
• Educate and train employees to perform their jobs safely and efficiently.
• Provide safety training programs, including transportation compliance and standard operating procedures as needed.
• Oversee and manage training records in collaboration with the corporate training group to keep divisions compliant.
• Maintain open communication with operations management to report on safety trends and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
• Conduct site safety audits and observations to ensure compliance and follow up on issues to guarantee corrective measures are taken.

Requirements and Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in the transportation industry is highly preferred.
• A valid driver’s license is required; CDL is a plus.
• Extensive knowledge of OSHA and DOT safety regulations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication skills; bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
• Strong commitment to safety practices.
• Must demonstrate a satisfactory attendance and performance record.
• Fluency in reading and writing in English is required; Spanish is a bonus.
• Basic computer skills are necessary, with training provided for job-specific software.

Salary Range: USD $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year.
