Job Title: EHS Coordinator

Reporting to: HR & EHS Manager

General Duties

Reporting to the HR & EHS Manager, the EHS Coordinator will be responsible for helping to promote and champion a positive Health & Safety culture at all our plants and ensure all safety policies are updated and being adhered by our staff.

  • *Responsibilities**:
  • Promotes and reinforces the companies safety policies throughout each facility.
  • Ensures all legislative policies are posted at each facility and enforced.
  • Helps to develop and conduct internal training - Hygiene, Proper PPE wearing, Ergonomics, Lifting, LOTO, Crane, Forklift, etc.
  • Proactively helps to identify, assess and mitigate health and safety risks
  • Observes and conducts risk assessments.
  • Coordinates and administers Health & Safety training programs.
  • Maintaining SDS binders at each facility.
  • Machine Safety PSHR
  • Managing all licenses and certification renewals (First Aid, Forklift, Scissor lift.etc)
  • Participates in all sites JHSC meetings.
  • Daily floor audits (every 2 hours) to ensure safety policies being followed
  • Investigates and follows up on accident/incident reports.
  • With guidance of Manager assess safety programs and procedures, make recommendations for improvements.
  • Performs site inspections and audits to ensure Health & Safety policies are being adhered.
  • Assists in WSIB Claims management and Return To Work programs.
  • Assisting with Environmental tasks such as oil/waste disposal, ensuring resin not getting into the environment, regulatory compliance followup
  • Conducting annual safety drills
  • Works with Manager on EHS projects.
  • Ensuring First aid rooms are stocked; ordering supplies when running low and restocking all first aid rooms as needed
  • Coordinate, execute and maintain department administrative activities and systems in line with internal requirements
  • Contributes to team effort by taking on added tasks as required.
  • Willingness to jump in and provide assistance to ensure voids are filled or addressed.
  • Adhere to company’s policies and GMP
  • Ensure security, integrity and confidentiality of all data.

  • Readily accepts other duties as assigned by Manager

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of EHS experience
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, and organizational skills
  • A highly-motivated, self-starter capable of supporting multiple projects.
  • Attention to details and reporting activities
  • Ability to multi-task and problem solve
  • Flexible work schedule

Typical working conditions

  • Schedule may change depending on business requirements. Monday to Friday

days, afternoon or nights may be required.

  • Travel between sites required.
  • Manufacturing environment with continuous interaction on manufacturing floor where PPE is required.

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year

Schedule

  • 8 hour shift
