Job Overview

As a crucial member of our team, the Safety and Health Program Coordinator is responsible for administering and coordinating our safety and health initiatives. You will foster a safe and healthy work environment that meets OSHA standards and best practices at our Kansas City facility. Reporting directly through the Operations structure makes this position integral to our commitment to workplace safety.

Highlights of Your Role

  • Lead the coordination of Safety and Health programs at the manufacturing site, ensuring compliance with regulations and promoting a robust safety culture centered on injury prevention.
  • Actively engage and collaborate with leadership, employees, and site management to generate and implement safety performance improvements using both leading and lagging indicators.
  • Help maintain and update local Safety and Health policies and procedures to align with Enterprise-level standards.
  • Keep accurate records of employee certifications, licenses, and training related to Safety and Health.
  • Assist in performing Safety and Health audits, documenting findings, and producing detailed reports.
  • Provide signage, materials, and barriers necessary to warn of hazards and prevent access to unsafe conditions.
  • Support the testing and maintenance of safety equipment and systems.
  • Play a role in implementing administrative or engineering controls to reduce safety risks.
  • Coordinate required health screenings (e.g., hearing tests, hazmat physicals, respiratory fit testing) and ensure they are completed as per facility requirements.
  • Join local Safety and Health teams, like the Safety Committee and Ergonomics Team, to enhance our initiatives.
  • Follow up on root cause analyses and ensure accurate corrective action data entry in the incident reporting system.

You're a Good Fit If You Have (or Can)

  • An associate degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office are essential.
  • A proven ability to effectively collaborate with management and direct associates.
  • A willingness to grow your knowledge in Safety and Health, including pursuing additional training and certifications (OSHA 10 & 30).
  • Ability to travel as needed and flexibility to occasionally work outside of standard hours.
  • The capacity to frequently stand and walk throughout the facility.
