We are a fast-growing transportation company with a strong reputation for safety, reliability, and customer service. Our operations include a Local Flatbed Division and a U.S. Bulk Division, and we're looking for an experienced Safety & Compliance Administrator/Coordinator to join our team. This position plays a vital role in maintaining compliance with all transportation safety regulations and ensuring that our drivers are fully supported and trained for success.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure company compliance with all federal, provincial/state, and DOT/MTO transportation regulations.
- Maintain and update safety and compliance records, driver qualification files, and vehicle inspection documentation.
- Conduct regular internal audits of logs, hours of service (HOS), vehicle inspections, and driver files.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and violations, prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective actions.
- Coordinate with management to implement and maintain safety policies, programs, and training initiatives.
- Track and monitor driver performance, including compliance metrics and safety trends.
Recruitment & Orientation
- Assist with the recruitment process for new drivers, including, screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
- Assist with new driver orientations, ensuring all new hires are trained and equipped to meet company and regulatory standards.
- Assist in developing and updating orientation and training materials.
Administrative & Support
- Maintain accurate and organized records for safety audits and compliance inspections.
- Support the operations team with compliance-related questions or issues.
- Prepare and distribute compliance reports and safety communications as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in transportation safety, compliance, or administrative role (Flatbed or Bulk experience an asset).
- Strong knowledge of DOT/NSC regulations, Hours of Service, and transportation safety standards.
- Experience with log auditing software and driver management systems preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to work effectively with drivers, management, and regulatory bodies.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and data management systems.
- Fluent English-written and verbal
